TikTok Shop PayLater Transaction Fee Goes Up to 4.86% From 16 October 2026

TikTok Shop Malaysia has just announced a change you need to know about. The transaction fee for TikTok PayLater orders is going up. Here is what you need to do.
What is changing
From 00:00 on 16 October 2026 (Malaysia time, GMT+8), the transaction fee rate for TikTok PayLater orders will be 4.86% (SST included).
The fee for all other payment methods stays the same at 3.78% (SST included).
So PayLater orders will cost you 1.08% more than other orders.
What this means in ringgit
Here is a simple example. Say you sell a product for RM100 and the buyer pays with TikTok PayLater.
Before 16 October: Transaction fee is RM3.78 (3.78%)
From 16 October: Transaction fee is RM4.86 (4.86%)
That is RM1.08 extra per RM100 sale on PayLater orders.
If PayLater makes up 20 percent of your sales and you do RM50,000 per month, that is RM10,000 of PayLater sales. The extra cost will be about RM108 per month.
What you must do
First, log in to your TikTok Shop Seller Center and check how many of your orders come from PayLater. Look at the past 30 days.
Second, update your product pricing or margin planning if PayLater is a big part of your sales. You may need to adjust prices slightly, or absorb the small extra cost.
Third, do not panic. PayLater still brings in more buyers because they can split the payment. Many Malaysian shoppers choose PayLater because it feels easier to pay. The small fee increase is still worth it if you get more orders.
Fourth, let your team know about this change so they can plan promotions and discounts around the new rate.
Why TikTok Shop is doing this
TikTok says this update supports the continued enhancement of the payment experience on TikTok Shop Malaysia. In simple words, PayLater is a credit service and it costs TikTok more to run. The fee covers part of that cost.
Other platforms like Shopee and Lazada also charge a slightly higher fee for buy now pay later options. So this is not unusual.

Apa anda perlu buat
Pertama, log masuk Seller Center TikTok Shop anda dan tengok berapa banyak pesanan daripada PayLater. Lihat 30 hari lepas.
Kedua, kemas kini harga produk atau margin anda jika PayLater sebahagian besar jualan anda. Mungkin anda perlu laraskan harga sedikit atau tanggung kos tambahan kecil ini.

Kenapa TikTok Shop buat begini
TikTok kata perubahan yuran ini untuk tingkatkan pengalaman pembayaran di TikTok Shop Malaysia. Dalam bahasa mudah, PayLater ialah servis kredit dan ia kos TikTok lebih tinggi untuk urus. Yuran ini tutup sebahagian kos tersebut.
Platform lain seperti Shopee dan Lazada pun caj yuran lebih tinggi untuk pilihan bayar kemudian. Jadi ini bukan perkara luar biasa.
